Some day everything can seem so clear, Others are blurred by the tears. Some days I can hold it all together, Some days I just want to disappear. Heart palpitations. Queasy stomach. Light headed. There once was an angel, That thought that it couldn’t handle anymore. Anymore of the bullshit or commitments it had to go through with. Then one day the angel’s world came crashing down. The angel watched as its clouds started to vanish, The sky became dark grey, so quickly too. And it started to fall to the ground. Oh what a surprise, I’m still awake. Why do all of my thoughts have to jumble my brain. And always right before going to sleep. Why can’t we just suppress all the thoughts, I don’t like the things I think about, I want all of the things wrong to just stop. I don’t want to have the thoughts I have. But surprise, surprise, They flood into my brain, As soon as I’m ready to go to bed. I just want one night of emptiness, Of clear headedness. I want to be able to sleep again. Once upon a time, I thought that there was hope for you. But now I’ve just lost hope in myself, And you. Over and over again, I try and I try. I just fail. Fail in life, With people, With myself. I am hopeless, And saving me is useless. Any hope I had for anything, Doesn’t exist anymore. I am numb. I don’t know where the person I used to be went. The happy go lucky me. For a while now, There's been a mask. A mask to over my face, So people wont see the real me. Wont see how broken I am. How broken my life is. There was one day, That I thought it was the right time to let go of my mask. My security blanket. I let myself feel. I let myself care. I let myself get hurt. I want people to understand this concept that if someone has power over you, it is difficult to say no. People ask: “why didn’t he leave his parent’s house if his parents are abusive?” “Why didn’t she just say no to coming over to his place? Then she wouldn’t have gotten raped.” Etc. If your boss orders you to do something, it’s difficult to say no because then you might get fired.
